Moto G Stylus 2021 reportedly has a 5G version that will launch in the US with bigger storage
A few days into 2021, the smartphone rumor mill has seen leaked renders of the device called Moto G Stylus. However, the phone Motorola announced with that name back in mid-January had a different design.
Now, new information has emerged online providing more context on what the previously leaked device is going to be. Journalist Nils Ahrensmeier recently shared renders of the upcoming phone that is expected to be released as the Moto G Stylus 5G version.
The report says it is the same device OnLeaks shared in early January. Some tech fans may have been confused and thought the previous renders were inaccurate because its rear-facing cameras’ arrangement was different from the one Motorola unveiled earlier this year.
Both leaks suggest the 5G version of Moto G Stylus will four cameras in the back placed in a square camera bump. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner stamped with the Motorola logo also appears in the images.
The latest leak does not say much about its specs, but Ahrensmeier said it will be released in the United States. It is also expected to launch with a 256GB storage option, which should be a welcome tweak from the currently available device of the same name as it is only available with 128GB storage.
Since the upcoming device will support 5G network, Motorola can expect that this variant of Moto G Stylus will have a different SoC. The previously announced device is powered by Snapdragon 678 that only supports LTE.
In a report in March, Technik News said the 5G Moto G Stylus is codenamed Denver and expected to launch with Snapdragon 480 chipset. The same report said the device will sport a quad-camera that combines a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP depth camera, and 5MP macro lens.
The device is rumored to feature a 6.8-inch display with 60Hz refresh rate. In the same March report on Moto G Stylus 5G, the handset is said to offer a standard 4GB RAM, which is similar to its LTE sibling. It is also expected to launch with red and gray color options. It is still unclear how much the 5G model will cost, though.
